Celebrating Scottish Apprenticeship Week

To celebrate Scottish Apprenticeship Week, we asked our 2 current modern apprentices Jayden and Jack what made them decide to take the apprenticeship route. Abbey was our very first modern apprentice, joining Prospect 5 years ago and is now a permanent member of staff after successfully completing her apprenticeship. Jayden joined us 2 years ago, and Jack was recruited last year. They are all valuable additions to Prospect’s staff team, and work on our busy Front Desk where they have a wide variety of administration and reception duties.

Jayden applied to be a modern apprentice because “ I get to gain practical work experience while earning a qualification. I find it better learning in a working environment rather than by a teacher talking to me.”

Jack said “the idea of an apprenticeship role where I could learn on the job and not in a classroom really stood out to me. This job in particular stood out for me because all of the great projects the company does for the local community which I loved the thought of being involved in.”

Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2025, co-ordinated by Skills Development Scotland, runs 3-7 March. It focuses on highlighting and sharing the value apprenticeships can bring, and promotes the benefits work-based learning brings to businesses, people and the economy.
